Calcium Magnesium Carbonate
Dolomite Powder
CaMg(CO₃)₂
Processed dolomite with consistent CaCO₃ and MgCO₃ content. Available in multiple mesh sizes for glass, ceramics, construction, and paint applications where magnesium content provides functional benefits.
Key Benefits
Why formulators choose Dolomite
01
Mohs hardness of 3.5–4 vs. calcium carbonate's 3 — delivers measurably better scrub resistance in exterior emulsion paint and putty
02
Typically more economical than calcium carbonate per tonne — cost benefit is most significant in high-volume decorative paints and primers
03
MgO content (20–22%) provides flux action in ceramics and glass — lowers firing temperature and improves melt viscosity
04
Dual calcium-magnesium chemistry — used as a combined Ca+Mg supplement in animal feed and agricultural lime applications
05
Consistent mineralogy lot-to-lot — predictable chemical composition means stable process performance in glass and ceramic manufacturing

FAQ
Common Buyer Questions
Questions we receive from procurement and technical teams before a first order. If your question isn’t listed, contact us directly.
Ask a Question →Why choose dolomite over calcium carbonate for exterior paint?
Dolomite's higher Mohs hardness (3.5–4) versus calcium carbonate (Mohs 3) gives measurably better scrub resistance and weathering durability in exterior emulsion paints. It is also typically more economical per tonne, making it attractive for high-volume decorative paints, primers, and textured coatings.
What is the MgO content in your dolomite?
Our dolomite typically contains 20–22% MgO and 30–32% CaO. Full chemical analysis is provided in the Certificate of Analysis with every batch. Contact us if you require a guaranteed minimum MgO level for a specific glass or ceramic application.
Is dolomite suitable for animal feed supplementation?
Yes — LM-DL-150 is used as a calcium-magnesium mineral supplement in livestock feed formulations. Animal feed applications require specific heavy metals analysis and purity documentation, which we can provide on request.
What mesh sizes are available?
Standard grades are 30 µm, 75 µm, and 150 µm (D97). Custom mesh sizes — including 200 mesh and 325 mesh equivalents — are available for repeat orders above 25 MT. Contact us with your mesh or D97 target.
